Speedtest Realme X2 Pro vs ROG Phone 2: you will never believe it

Here we are again here for a new appointment dedicated to the comparison between the Realme X2 Pro and another smartphone. Poco some time ago we have proposed a compelling one clash between this device and the Google Pixel 4XL, decreeing that on balance the first device is the most convenient. Today we want to offer you something a little more thorough since we are going to see a speed test between our Realme with processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus and a real monster of gaming: ROG Phone 2 by Asus. Unlike the other challenge, this time smartphones share all the features regarding the hardware side. We have in both the same processor, the same amount of RAM and equal internal storage. So we are witnessing an equal fight. But which of the two will prevail?

Speedtest Realme X2 Pro vs ROG Phone 2: you will never believe it

As always we rely on the tests of Tech Thusiast which, albeit "homemade", allow us to have an idea on which device is more convenient than another. This reasoning is necessarily to be done at a time like this when the market of mobile devices is extremely diverse and the wallet is always lighter. The most demanding must necessarily spend a lot to have a super performing device? In our opinion absolutely not and also according to this comparison.

Let's briefly summarize the characteristics of the two devices: we have a Qualcomm Snadpragon 855 Plus processor, an Adreno 640 GPU and 8 GB of RAM, all moved by Android 9 Pie. This applies to both smartphones. The only difference between the two is the price: looking at the official Realme and Asus price lists, the above configurations are sold respectively at the price of € 449 and € 699, a good € 250 waste.

As usual the Youtuber uses the 16 applications to do the test and calculate the start time of each and a short execution period. All applications are basically divided into three groups: social, video games and various (including browser and camera). Without going into detail we can see how during the two rounds the devices proceed almost in a tie, ending the phase perfectly with the same score.

During this first round the Realme X2 Pro seems to have the upper hand and exceeds the ROG Phone by one point up to "PUBG Mobile", the penultimate application launched. In this instant the ROG reaches Realme and this allows him to reach the same score for the end of the first one clash that closes 15 to 15.

The second clash opens as usual with lthe opening of the applications in the reverse order and with a beautifully loaded RAM memory, since all the Previous open processes remain open in the background. In this case, from start to finish neither of them ever manages to overtake the opponent and at each application both devices proceed at the same speed of opening and execution. This speaks volumes about the quality and optimization of the software that moves the Realme X2 Pro, or ColorOS. Recall that this custom interface based on Android is in common with Oppo, although it seems that in the future the sub-brand will have its own skin.

Also in this case, as in the previous speed test that we have proposed, we want to reflect on how much a device with a high cost is not necessarily better nor much less powerful. A house like Asus, on the field for much longer than Realme and Oppo, she was seen stealing the throne from a relatively young brand who has a great desire to conquer the telephony market just as he did and is doing Xiaomi.

We hope you enjoy these speedtests: tell us in the comments below!
