Speedtest Realme X2 Pro vs Google Pixel 4XL: who will prevail?

As we saw two weeks ago in this article, the new sub brand flagship of Oppo or Realme X2 Pro, was put in presale at a really good price. Suns 399€ for a smartphone with a latest generation processor, recharge from 50W it's one snappy scanner which allows you to unlock the device in just 0.23 seconds. But is all that glitters gold? Not always, but in this case, yes. We say this because we are faced with an engineering masterpiece that fights (effortlessly) with a device of the caliber of Google Pixel 4XL. What will be the outcome of the challenge? You will certainly understand it ... but read on anyway.

Speedtest Realme X2 Pro vs Google Pixel 4XL: who will prevail?

We quickly summarize the main features of the two devices: as regards the Realme X2 Pro we have a Qualcomm Snadpragon 855+ processor, an Adreno 640 GPU and 8 GB of RAM, all moved by Android 9 Pie (since it hasn't been updated yet). On the other side we have the Pixel 4XL with Snapdragon 855 processor, Adreno 640 GPU and 6 GB of RAM, but here the system is updated to the latest release Android 10.

As usual the experiments of Tech Thusiast they take as a sample 16 applications and they see the opening speed together with a short execution period. The applications are, of course, launched at the same time. The first two applications "Camera"and "Google browser”They open at the same time and the reactivity of the second when opening the XDA site is the same. Also for the purchase portals "eBay"and "hotdeals”The score remains unchanged as apps open at the same time.

The part that interests us most comes now as we move on to the opening of social networks. The first to be tested is "Instagram"Who sees how winner of the Realme X2 Pro while the second, "Google News ”, ends in a draw. As for "Twitter" the Youtuber gives a score 1 to 1 but it is clear that the first device wins (even if by a few thousandths) on the Pixel. The same applies to the "Youtube" video platform which opens with a slight advance, but responds with a little delay when the video starts.

Now we finally move on to the games and here keep yourselves because the Realme burns the Pixel in the true sense of the word. The first application to be head is "Candy Crush Saga ”which is opened well in advance on the first device than the second. Note that at the moment the RAM is a hair full since there are nine applications open in the background. The second game to be started is “Dolphin Emulator” and this time the clash ends on an equal basis for the two devices both for the start and for the initial execution.

"Jetpack Joyride" establishes the superiority of Realme on the Pixel as the latter device has certainly encountered some hitch, stopping at the click of the Youtuber: the result is a not insignificant delay on opening the app. Even the games "Lemmings" and "Super Mario Run" see Realme win and for a first moment too "Pokemon Go": here it starts early on the X2 Pro but the execution of the game itself is slightly delayed, giving Google a smartphone a point. "Pubg" and "Temple Run 2" also see the first winner smartphone.

The second round is very interesting because well 16 applications are active in the background and therefore both devices, in theory, should be more fatigued. Without going into unnecessary details, going back to "Twitter" the devices behave the same way by accumulating 10 points each from "Google News" to "Google Browser" the Realme detaches the Pixel by 5 points thus sanctioning its victory on the Google Phone.

Now, the result you know and you will be saying in your head: "Yes, but the Realme X2 Pro has a 15% more powerful processor than the Google Pixel 4XL "and 2 GB more RAM". You are right to think so and this is precisely what should make you think: the Chinese device has more power on the hardware side but costs half of that built by Big G.

Again, so let's see how it is possible to make high-performance products at fair prices.
