The OPPO brand has been on the lips of all lovers of mobile technology for a few days, thanks to the launch of the top of the range Find X2 and X2 Pro, proving to be back on the scene in style. But the company also dared with the contextual launch of its first wearable, the OPPO Watch, laying the foundations for the creation of a real ecosystem of products. In fact, in recent months the Chinese company has delighted us also with gadgets such as true wireless headphones, gamepads, car chargers and power banks, but if compared to what is offered by direct competitors, such as Xiaomi and Huawei, the way to go is still long and tortuous.
But OPPO does not lose heart, announcing the launch of its very first smart TV, so far only subject to rumors without any foundation. In fact, the first entry concerning OPPO Smart TV (this is the hypothetical name) dates back to the end of 2019 and now this is officially confirmed, although there is no real online release.
OPPO confirms the launch of its smart TV
In any case, the presentation of the Chinese brand's smart TV will take place this year, without having a precise date, but from what was stated by vice president Liu Bo, the second half of 2020 will be the period chosen as the scenario for the launch of the playful gadget. However, OPPO also has more in store, since its ecosystem idea focuses on 4 scenarios, all based on IoT technology: private life, travel, office and family. Therefore OPPO's smart TV will represent only the first piece of a puzzle which, once complete, will show us a rich, efficient and multiplatform ecosystem.
Returning to the OPPO smart TV, at the moment we have no indiscretions on technical characteristics, but it is almost certain that this will come with 4 diagonal screen cuts, able to meet the vast majority of the needs of the customers of this market.
