According to the latest rumors coming from China, MediaTek is preparing for the launch of the 700 series for the Dimensity processor line. As suggested by the name, this series will be positioned below the 800 released a few months ago. It is also said that this range was specifically created for 5G smartphones with a maximum price of 1000 Yuan, or about 125 euros.
OPPO A72 with CPU MediaTek leaks online, will it be the cheapest 5G smartphone?
In any case, why do we talk about it here on OPPO Today? Well very simply because the famous Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station would have released images of a OPPO A72 in MediaTek sauce. Then indicating that the smartphone would be equipped with a MediaTek MT6853V, a CPU model that would then change its name to MediaTek Dimensity 720.
As for the design of the device, the smartphone seems to adopt a screen with a hole in the upper left for the front camera. While on the back we find a square-shaped camera module with three cameras and an LED flash inside. The general dimensions are instead of 163.2 × 75.1 for a thickness of 7.9mm and a weight of 178g. As in many other mid-range devices, we will also find a side fingerprint sensor.
Always the leakster also released an image of a list of specifications. Among these we note the presence of the MediaTek MT6853V as a processor, which powers a 6,5-inch diagonal LCD screen with a resolution of 2400 * 1080 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. We also have a battery capacity of 4040 mAh and support for a wired fast charge with a maximum power of 18W. For cameras, we should have a resolution of 16 MP for the main, 8 MP for the secondary (probably ultra wide) and a 2MP depth sensor. In front we will find instead an 8 MP camera to take selfies.
So in conclusion, if this OPPO A72 with MediaTek Dimensity 720 really cost about 1000 Yuan (€ 125) and supports 5G connectivity, we would be faced with an incredible specific price ratio.
