Former OPPO VP Brian Shen again on the attack of DxOMark

After launching a bomb on DxOMark over a year ago, the former OPPO vice president, Brian Shen, has now returned to the attack of the world's most famous photographic benchmarking platform.

Former OPPO VP Brian Shen again on the attack of DxOMark

DxOMark OPPO Brian Shen

Brian Shen said on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) that:

In fact, the score given to the cameras is really insignificant as it is possible to pay a consultant to help the company "fix bugs". Whether you buy a mobile phone or a camera, look at the photos taken with low brightness or those taken by a SLR to understand if you like them or not. DxOMark's camera score doesn't make you look prettier in photos. Similarly, there is not much value in the score of the audio sector, go to listen to it firsthand and see if you like it or not. (I expressed similar opinions a few years ago: a group of people replied that smartphones cannot always be tried.

As mentioned earlier, this is not the first time that the former OPPO vice president attacks DxOMark. In March 2019 Brian Shen said in another post on Weibo that:

Oppo Find X2 Pro Oppo Enco Italy

Is DxOMark really needed? Do all cameras need to be tuned to the same standard?

I mean, there may be a need for rating agencies, but does something as subjective as taking a photo have to be set to the same standard? Is it right to set all the beautification features in one style?

In any case, after affirming the above, the Chinese brand still cooperated with DxOMark in December last year with the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom which made its debut on the platform with an excellent score of 116. Cooperation that then it continued with the OPPO Find X2 Pro which since March 2020 has been in the top 3 of the DxOMark ranking.

What do you think about it? Do you agree with Brian Shen or is the DxOMark score sacred to you? Let us know in the comments section below!
